Shane Garver serves as Save the Children’s Associate Vice President of Rural Education Programs, leading teams that both design and implement the nonprofit’s evidence-based, award-winning programs for kids prenatally through third grade across rural America. Shane grew up in rural Ohio and understands the challenges children and families Save the Children supports are facing day to day. Shane graduated first in his class from Berea College with a teaching degree and went on to earn a master’s degree. For 15 years, he has been based in Save the Children’s Kentucky field office and has grown through the ranks, starting as a program coordinator and now overseeing a team of more than 500 Save the Children and partner staff members.
