Dr. Tiffany Anderson is Superintendent of Topeka Public Schools USD 501, and has been a public school educator for 23 years. She closed achievement gaps in rural, urban and in suburban public school districts, having served as Superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools (VA) and Jennings School District (MO), and assistant superintendent of Rockwood School District (St. Louis, MO).
Dr. Anderson’s focus and expertise in curriculum and in leading balanced literacy approaches have resulted in significant academic improvements in districts she has led. Under Dr. Anderson’s leadership, Jennings School District regained full accreditation, a distinction the district lost decades ago. Jennings is a national model of excellence in serving the whole child.
Dr. Anderson’s publications include her books Closing the Achievement Gap and Transforming Schools for Excellence, and numerous articles. Dr. Anderson’s recent work led to beginning the process of creating the first trauma informed school district in St. Louis, Missouri.
